Milestone Marathon… sorrynotsorry I’m not done celebrating 🏅✨💚 5X @nycmarathon and 10th Marathon 💚 I had retired from marathons after 3 on the west coast- and then I had no idea how to come back after hitting rock bottom… I called my @mamichifcossio and asked her to do THIS marathon with me. 2017🏅 #1 We ran with shirts that had our names on the back (rookie mistake) but given the state of the affairs the front said “Nasty Warrior Women” and “don’t stop believing’ 🦄 “ We finished hand in hand. 💕 We ran through 🇲🇽💚 I needed this. 2021🏅 #2 Then the 50th Anniversary of the NYC marathon running with @achilles_international - the race had less than 25000 runners in a world that remained uncertain. I needed this. 2023🏅 #3 I had a coach. @johnrferry3 helped me train and arrive post a tough egg retrieval. I broke 4 hours for the first time ever. I needed this. 2024🏅 #4 Running better and stronger than I ever have in my life. My coach, my community, my grit and passion for this race got me to a PR I’d never even dreamt of ✨ I needed this. 2025🏅 #5 Unsure up until two weeks ago prior if I was going to do this one… my health had been a mess all year. So had my life. I had an epic running year in 2024 and I was nowhere near. But I needed this. For me. And not only did we get to the start line… we made it to the finish line 🏅✨💚 Find what will bring you back. Find what will keep you moving and focused. Find what will bring you back to YOU. We want to give thanks to all the times we have been inspired, held and nurtured by another woman. And in this moment knowing how privileged we are that we get to gather — We would like to put a prayer for all the women that are struggling in this moment, for any woman that feels alone, that has never been able to sit in a circle — women that are still forbidden to voice their truth and that live in war zones. We are not divided and our path for freedom comes from within. For a world where the feminine expression of God is respected and held as Mother Earth has done for us all.   3. 11 years ago I did this solo at Carnival never knowing where it would take me. Just saying yes and putting one foot in front of the other. Looking at all obstacles like collaborative input from the universe. This piece started as a group piece and everyone bailed one by one, making it a solo in the end. I went on to do this solo all over the world in the coming years which led to other stepping stones along my path. Success is not linear y’all. So much gratitude for Carey and Paulette who gave me an opportunity to show my work when no one in LA knew who I was. I’ll be showing work at carnival this month July 27th. See you there!
