  1. Had to do a part 2 of this one ⬇️ I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what makes life better for me, and not in terms of physical assets or attributes but rather mindset shifts and ways of thinking or acting. So here’s a list of things I try to stop doing or thinking in order to make my life that little bit better. 1. Blaming others While external factors and people do have an influence on your life, the more you blame others for your life, the less power you’re giving yourself to actually improve it. 2. Trying to be perfect We’re not perfect and nothing ever will be. Convincing yourself there is a potential perfect version of you therefore means you’ll be chasing something that doesn’t exist. 3. Looking for approval While everyone fundamentally needs a certain level of social acceptance, it doesn’t mean you should let the approval of others dictate everything you do. Live true to your values and let the right people come to you. 4. Living in the past I’ve learned that looking over my shoulder is one of the biggest threats to my personal growth. Whether it’s something I did yesterday or 10 years ago, reliving mistakes from the past can eat me alive. So I try to be conscious of focusing on where I am now, and just do my best to not make that same mistake again. 5. Judging others Judging other people is just a coping mechanism to give yourself a false sense of superiority or accomplishment. It takes away the focus from yourself so you don’t have to deal with whatever it is you have to deal with. Like everyone, I’ve been guilty of this in the past and probably will be in the future too. The only thing we can do is try to spot it when it happens, and correct ourselves in time. Or at least, that’s how I see it :). #SelfImprovement #LifeAdvice #Motivation #Inspiration #PersonalGrowth #GoodLife #SelfDevelopment #Positivity #PositiveMindset

  2. Explained here ⬇️ 1. You don’t control everything Us humans, we like to be in charge. We like to know what will happen before it does and we can get frustrated when we don’t. But the reality is that we don’t control everything. Honestly, there’s a lot of stuff we don’t control. The only thing we actually control is the decisions we make. So focus on those, and let the outcome be whatever it is. 2. Self Care is not selfish Saying no to certain activities or people once in a while is not a bad thing if it protects your inner peace and allows you to take better care of yourself. It’s ok to not drink. It’s ok to stay at home. It’s ok to leave the party early. Choose to live life on your own terms, even when societal pressure tries to convince you otherwise. 3. You can’t please everyone When you try to please everyone, it’s hard to be your true authentic self. Have the courage to be disliked if that means you’re staying true to your values and beliefs. 4. No one owes you anything Hard pill to swallow but it’s true. Nothing or no one owes you anything. If you want to make something happen, you’ll have to work for it. It’s not because you’re coming from a difficult place that the universe should just give you everything you want. Drop the victim mindset and give the universe a reason to reward you. 5. Your past does not define your future This is such a big one for me. Do you realise you could literally decide to be another person when you wake up tomorrow? You could.. You really could. You just have to start making different decisions than the ones you’d normally make. That’s how simple it is. Not easy, but simple. #SelfImprovement #PersonalGrowth #Mindset #Motivation #Inspiration #LifeAdvice #Happiness #GrowthMindset #Tips #SelfCare #Confidence
