  1. As requested, a visual of the Apple Cider Vinegar Final Rinse I swear by!⁣ ⁣ The starting point is cleansed, conditioned (rinsed out) and brushed hair. There's filtered water and a generous splash of acv in my bowl, the measurement is what suits MY hair. The amount of acv needed will vary depending on your porosity but this is especially great for high porosity hair like mine. A guide of acv measurements are in @themestizamuse website article on this topic. ⁣ ⁣ 2 mins later you can see shiny clumps have reformed, smoothed out and been lifted of any residual heaviness from my deep conditioner. I rinse very lightly afterwards and style as normal. Please keep in mind my hair is very long now and in major need of a trim. Not once does she cite any true sources for her statements! Almost all of her statements are based on cherry-picked statements and bad science. You can watch my video for the complete list of claims and my responses to them, but here’s a TLDR: 👉🏼 Claim 1: “Parabens cause breast cancer and have estrogenic activity in the body” ‼️ Truth: Parabens are extremely safe in the quantities used in cosmetics, in fact they’re the best understood preservative. Cosmetics need preservatives so they don’t go moldy. The so-called “estrogenic activity” of Parabens is 10,000 to 1 million times weaker than estradiol (the body’s natural estrogen), making it essentially negligible. 👉🏼 Claim 2: “Talc in lipstick is bad, and lipsticks can legally hide up to 200 chemicals.” ‼️ Truth: Talc has only proven to cause health issues when loose talc particles are inhaled. I was on a healthy hair journey and stopped heat styling and stopped getting it colored every few months. I now only get my hair balayaged once a years. Back in December I started doing a modified version of the CGM. I finally decided in March to go full CGM thanks to some very inspirational ladies here on Instagram ( @coffeecurlygirl @powerdomi @wavyblondelle @elyssacurlygirl @katherinepagewaves @ingecurls @wavestocurls @curly_n_fab @curlicue_lu ) to name a few 😬😘.   2. 𝐼𝓃𝒽𝒶𝓈𝒾 𝒩𝒶𝓉𝓊𝓇𝒶𝓁𝓈...⁣ ⁣ @inahsinaturals so very kindly gifted me a bunch of products. I have been playing around with them for over a month now. As you guys probably know my hair has been a challenge ever since I got it cut and bleached. I finally figured out what to do! More on that later 😉⁣ ⁣ I have to say I have been really loving these products. Especially their Custard! It gives me a really nice cast and I can use a lot of it. Some custards are too heavy for me and I can only use a tiny bit. I have found their products to be very hydrating and not heavy. Which is so important to me!! ⁣ ⁣ ℍ𝕠𝕨 𝕀 𝕦𝕤𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕞⁣ ⁣ Shower:⁣ ~I applied their Mango Hemp Restorative Hair Masque for 15 mins to wet hair⁣ ~I used their sulfate free Clarifying Mint Shampoo (it smells so fresh and exactly like mint. It doesn’t strip my hair at all)⁣ ~I applied their Soothing Mint Conditioner and let it sit for a few mins and detangled. I couldn’t believe how easily my brush slid through my massive tangles. Seriously it was so easy 🙏🏻🙏🏻⁣ ⁣ Styling:⁣ *I squeezed a little water out of my hair but not very much. I wanted my hair to be soaking wet!! I was bent over most of my Styler application. ⁣ ~ I used about a quarter sized amount of the Aloe Hibiscus leave in. I glazed and scrunched it in.⁣ *I sprayed my hair with a little water⁣ ~I took a small glob of the Coconut Avocado Curl Defining Custard and glazed and scrunched it in.⁣ *sprayed my hair with water and applied another layer of the Custard.⁣ *I then used a giant glob of my Eco Professional Styling Gel. I sprayed my hair with more water. I stood upright and distributed more gel carefully flipping my hair from side to side and scrunching⁣ ~ I went in with another layer of Custard while I was upright. ⁣ *I plopped for about 30 mins. And then very very lightly scrunched with the shirt I had used for plopping. ⁣ *I diffused for about 45 mins and smastered with some Pantene volume mousse. I allowed the rest to air dry. Then Ta-da 💁🏼‍♀️💜⁣

The other day I decided to mix some of my gels together in a bowl before applying it.   2. diffusing tip: turn off your dryer when moving your diffuser! ✨take each section of hair up into the diffuser while the dryer is OFF ✨when positioned correctly, turn the dryer ON and hold for 10 seconds or so ✨turn the dryer OFF again before removing the section this technique ensures that airflow is contained just to the section within the diffuser bowl, and only when its in a “scrunched” position. it doesn’t get airflow when the diffuser is cupping the strands or allowing them to lengthen. this helps reduce frizz immensely because strands are the getting knocked around by uncontrolled airflow. other general factors that influence frizz during the diffusing process are air speed and temperature 💁🏼‍♀️ how do you reduce frizz in your washday?

this wash day was GOALS and it started off by nailing the styling process and forming these amazing wet curl clumps. everyone’s styling process is different, but for my high porosity color treated hair, i get my BEST curls by doing the following: ✅ styling on soaking wet hair. Sorry for the obnoxious amount of photos here but today’s wash day experiment was a 💣 success. Last wash day was a stringy mess (gel experiment gone bad) so thank the curl gods for today’s results 🙌 . . . I’ve read from curly pros on here about trying products that may not work for you again further along in your journey. That’s what I did today... . . . I started my wavy journey with mostly devacurl products but quickly realized their stylers were way too drying for me and moved on to other lines. But highly inspired by two of my favorite wavies @wavycurly & @thewavyhapa I decided to give Wavemaker & Frizz Free foam another shot. Now that I know my hair & regularly used products better I decided to add a generous amount of my favorite moisturizing products before hand and it made ALL the difference! No surprise it was two of my holy grails @asiamuk Coconut Cowash & my bae @bouncecurl Leave In. . . . I’ve never experienced noticeable shrinkage (still laughing 🤣) until today. I’ve got more texture than ever! The last picture is the most perfect wave and it’s a nemesis section of hair that’s usually straight af 😳. . . . Now that I have products & technique that I know work well for my hair it’s fun to play around with how I’m combining them. These are my two current favorite combos depending on my mood...   1. If you want defined bouncy curls, your hair needs to be properly conditioned and wet enough to clump well. Most are going to get the best clumps and definition when styling on hair that is soaking wet, maybe even dripping wet. Some will do better with it more on the damp side. So, play around with wetness levels to see what works best for you. Regardless, if you're not hearing the squishing sound when scrunching, it's likely not wet enough to style on & you will end up with stringy curls and excessive frizz. Once your hair is styled, however, you are going to want to remove that excess water as soon as possible and get it dry as fast as possible. Over time, given your hair too much, hydration/moisture (water) could damage the structure and cause dryness, frizziness, and stringy limp curls. 🔹️Side note: the size of your clumps will depend on your curl pattern. If you have a looser pattern, your clumps will likely be on the bigger size. If you have a tighter pattern, then they will likely be smaller.   2. Mousse-Gel 🆚️ Gel-Mousse ⏬️⏬️ Here's what I noticed between the 2 different applications on my fine wavy curly hair. Mousse-Gel 🌸Lightweight 🌸Bouncy 🌸Has volume and definition 🌸Diffuses within 15-20 minutes Gel-Mousse 🌸Weighed down 🌸Has little volume and less definition 🌸My hair was still very wet after micro-plopping 🌸Diffusing takes 30-45 minutes or more There is no right or wrong way to apply these 2 products. I generally find working from lightest to heaviest work better for most, which would mean mousse then gel. However, whatever way gives you your desired look is the way you should go with. For me, I like volume, bounce, definition, and a quick dry time, so mousse then gel seems to work better for me🥰 Which way gives your hair the desired look you want?   3. OMG 😲 those curls, if we can even call them that, where so bad🤦🏻‍♀️ Here's what I do differently now, vs. then 💜Using a shampoo to cleanse my scalp, as often as needed. This is generally with a clarifying/chelating shampoo 2-3 × a week. 💜Only deep conditioning when and if necessary. 💜Using a bond repair treatment and protein treatments weekly or when needed. 💜Reduced bleaching and not overlapping bleach. I stopped bleaching 10 months ago, colored my hair back to its natural color, and now use semi-permanent color to my roots only. 💜Let go of dead ends & length. 💜Always brushing through products just before scrunching. No fancy brush styling to over manipulate curls. 💜Switched to lightweight products, reduced the amount of conditioning products, and added proper hold. 💜Wet plop and microplop only 💜Styling on properly saturated/hydrated hair 💜Diffusing with no air drying ✨️TIME!! Even if I had started doing all this right from the start, time would still have been needed to allow my hair to heal and recover.
