  2. Come get ready for death with me 💁🏻‍♀️ 💀 ✅Last Rites: an elongated prayer said by a Catholic Priest, speaking in the person of the one who is dying, asking for forgiveness of sin, the mercy of God, and the intercession of the saints. ✅ Confession: if you are able, make a good confession to rid yourself of any mortal sin and be sure to be in God’s good graces before death. If you are unconscious, the priest will absolve you in good faith. ✅ Viaticum: it literally means “provisions for your journey” and that’s exactly what it is! It is the Eucharist, it is JESUS, the Bread of Life, given a final time before you die. Even if one cannot swallow, a tiny fragment of the Host is sufficient upon their tongue or on their lips. This certainly is the best provision for your journey into eternity! ✅ Apostolic Pardon: A blessing that gives the person dying who is in a state of grace, total remission of temporal punishment due to his sins (no purgatory!). The person dying must have prayed regularly in some way during their lifetime in order to gain this incredible indulgence. Side note - because only God knows our ultimate fate in eternity, we should always pray for the dead even if they receive this pardon! ✅ 30 Gregorian Masses: this is the most underutilized and one of the most important AFTER death. Gregorian Masses are a series of Holy Masses traditionally offered on 30 consecutive days as soon as possible after a person’s death. History of this practice comes from St. Gregory the Great. He had Masses on 30 consecutive days offered for the repose of the soul of a monk who had died in Rome. At the end of the 30th Mass, the deceased appeared to one of his fellow monks and announced that he had been delivered from the flames of Purgatory. And do not forget to prepare EVERY DAY by constantly giving your life to Jesus, offering up sufferings, praying well (daily rosary), devoting yourself to the brown Scapular, frequent confession and reception of the Eucharist - LOVING ONE ANOTHER! Memento Mori - Remember your death! Isaiah 38:1 “…This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die…” #mementomori #holy #catholic #jesus

  1. I couldn't even begin to count the number of times family or internet strangers responded to my going natural with some threat or fear mongering that "while I have a right to go natural, no one will want me." That's horseshit. And it gets to the crux of how we socialize women: through fear and shame. While the ultimate goal of deprogramming is *not* to attract male attention, let's be real here. If women overnight quit the rat race, men would still be attracted to women. They would relearn to find post pubescent features, like body hair and cellulite, attractive. They would feel neutral about gray hairs and breasts and tummies that change. Relationship status is not dependent on how compliant we are with the industry. Threatening natural women with spinsterhood is ridiculous. But if you're single and need encouragement: I started going natural in 2015 and fully committed in 2019 when I met my now husband. He deprogrammed because I motivated him to. We've been married for a year, and deprogramming has allowed us to be very comfortable in all aspects of our bodies. I'm thankful to have a spouse who washes my menstrual underwear under freezing water, who is fully aware of my cycles and tracks with me, who didn't bat an eyelash about dressing surgical wounds or toilet care when I was so medicated I couldn't. I'm thankful to have a spouse who has agreed to gender neutral swim suits to set an equal standard for our family, and I'm thankful he has never treated my pubic hair as a barrier to intimacy. My husband asks me when I'm going to have short hair like the day we met while also making lovey comments about it at any length. If you're serious about finding the right spouse, then he better embrace every inch of who you really are, and you can discern that with greater ease if you date in your natural body. It's not harder to date while natural, it's harder to date misogynists while natural... which is really a bonus in my opinion. Has anyone spoken to you from a place of anxiety, fear, or threats when you discuss going natural? Have you ever had a fruitful conversation about these limiting beliefs? Have you ever just had a snappy comeback? Comment below!

  2. Not everyone values hobbies or pursuits, nor has time or money for them, not every season of life is filled with them, but can we at least agree to use the word properly? No one said it’s not costly or timely to maintain beauty-sickness regimens, and in fact, it’s a major part of my advocacy on this page. But costliness and timeliness are not what defines a hobby, pursuing it for relaxation is. Watching other people do sports or acting (their professions) is not a personal pursuit. And often the passive consumption of media is not relaxing but numbing. We need to be careful about how we define our spare time and bandwidth. We need to be honest with ourselves about when we are being active or passive and clearly set intentions before giving up a lot of time to something. It’s also not audacious for anyone on a date to inquire about hobbies. If someone is defensive, defiant, or reactive to such a question, it’s because they are *judging themselves* for not pursuing anything for its own sake. Anyone who is trying to get to know you or get a picture of what life with you would be like *should* ask about your hobbies and pastimes. Joining an IM sports league, playing chess at the library, painting acrylics, or playing trombone are all going to paint different pictures of different home lives, and it’s GOOD someone is curious enough to ask. If you feel the need to make a video saying your purchased appearance is your lifestyle, that is something for you to contemplate. Why did that bristle you? Why are you trying to collect fake feminism tokens from internet strangers instead of being vulnerable and open with the real person who was trying to know you? “Dating” came about as a form of courtship, for people to make their own love matches rather than parents or matchmakers finding a spouse for them. Even if you’re dating as a pastime and have no intention of picking one person, how is it the fault of the other person for asking about your life? In good faith, s/he is trying to see if you’re a match, and it’s a shame if you’d would rather get fake points from randos who share the same unhealed wounds instead of real life connection or self discovery.

  3. For anyone who says "I only do these beauty regimens for special occasions," let's ask "why?" -why do men feel ready for special occasions with a shower and an outfit change? Why not women? -what about your features doesn't feel special enough for a party? Why don't men feel that way about their lips and lashes? -why should women's memories of special occasions involve pinched toes, tight clothes, and maintaining their make-up? Is it fair to teach little kids that women should respect a special occasion by being uncomfortable? -given that women in most households cook and bake for holidays and parties, why should they be wearing restricting clothes or cosmetics that hold them back from truly feasting and enjoying their hardwork? Why shouldn't people enjoy the fruit of their labor? -why should little girls get their hair tightly tugged on and pinched with "feminine" items like tights or Mary Janes while little boys are ready for the event with a comb and khakis? How can we teach respectful attire without unequal pain and discomfort (or any for that matter)? -if you're only wearing makeup a handful of times a year, is it worth the cost to own and replace it so it's not expired? Is it worth the space in your drawer? Why don't men have an equivalent product routine that have upkeep costs while rarely being used? -do you have family members you are placating by wearing cosmetics when you see them? What would it take for you to have full integrity around anyone you spend holidays with? And the questions that most convicted me: -what would future family members think of me based on photos that are usually taken and printed from these events? Will family albums reflect my beliefs? Or will I blend in with the shared feminine trauma all around me? -when I no longer have a voice, could a future niece, daughter, or granddaughter see for themselves that I tried to hand them a healed inheritance? I'm sure there are a unique array of answers! You have a limited time on earth and only one body. Every day of your life is a special occasion. You can choose to treat yourself like you're special, instead of the holiday or party. I hope you know that.

  1. 🌹📿 EXPLAINED ↴ “Do Catholics worship Mary?”
❌ No. We don’t. Worship is for God alone. But we do honor Mary — profoundly — because God honored her first. 🪽 Luke 1:28 tells us the angel greets her as “full of grace.” Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, calls her “blessed among women” (Luke 1:42). And Mary herself proclaims, “All generations will call me blessed” (Luke 1:48). We simply obey that. 💕 At the cross, Jesus gives Mary to John — and to all of us. “Behold your mother” (John 19:27). He could have said anything in His final moments — and He gave us her. ✨ In Revelation 12, we see “a woman clothed with the sun… and on her head a crown of twelve stars” (Rev. 12:1). This is Mary — mother of the male child who will rule all nations (Rev. 12:5). She is seen reigning in heaven — not as a goddess, but as a mother. 👸 In ancient Israel, the queen was not the king’s wife, but his mother. She held the title Gebirah, or “Great Lady.” Solomon placed a throne for his mother at his right hand (1 Kings 2:19). In the kingdom of Christ — the Son of David — Mary is His queen mother. ⚜️ We honor her not instead of Christ, but because of Him. Mary always points to her Son and says what she said at Cana: “Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5). ❤️‍🔥 And if you still don’t believe this, go and take a look at Martin Luther’s Sermon on Christmas in 1531, where he explicitly states that “We can never honor her [Mary] enough. Still honor and praise must be given to her in such a way as to injure neither Christ nor the Scriptures.” #mary #mothermary #catholicism #catholiclife #catholicfaith #christianity #catholic #catholicliving #christianliving #christianlife #catholicchurch #jesuslovesyou #marianconsecration #christianwomen #christiangirlboss #christiangirl #catholicgirl #catholicwomen #catholicmom #catholictruth #catholictradition #traditionexplained #traditionaltheology #theology #theologymatters #catholictheology #catholiccontentcreator

  1. Five years ago today, at age 43, I became a mother. A black-haired, amber-eyed boy was placed in my arms, and my whole world changed.⁣ ⁣ People often ask if this was hard, becoming a mom so late. But it wasn’t. It was wonderful. That’s not to say there aren’t challenging aspects. There are. I wish my parents were younger. I wish they could enjoy these babies more. I wish I had the energy of my 28-year-old self. Or even my 38-year-old self. More time for more babies would have been nice, too.⁣ ⁣ But for every challenging part of being an older mom, there are a thousand glorious parts.⁣ ⁣ No matter my age, there are still heads resting on my shoulder, cheeks pressed against mine, and bodies lying heavy on me in the night.⁣ ⁣ There are still peals of laughter and choruses of song. There are books being read and stories being told. There is whining and crying that grate the nerves, but also the sweetest little conversations between the sweetest little people who don’t realize you’re listening.⁣ ⁣ There are still personalities developing and temperaments emerging. There is growing and becoming, discovering and wondering, apologizing and forgiving.⁣ ⁣ Most of all, there are moments like this, during a visit to Illinois, where heaven comes to earth and no fancy editing or soundtrack can improve one bit upon the whirling, twirling beauty of it all.⁣ ⁣ Energy would be nice. Family help would be lovely. But I wouldn’t trade all the energy and help in the world for one second with this man and these babies. Every one of them was worth the wait. And I believe every one of them is why God had me wait. He saw this dance before He laid the foundations of the world, and only His timing could get us here—not mine, not my mother’s, and especially not the judgy lady on the Internet’s.⁣ ⁣ If motherhood has come for you early, praise God. But if you’re still waiting for that gift, praise Him still. No matter how it may seem, His plan will be better than yours. And if motherhood is part of that plan, your age won’t diminish the joy you find in your children. It’s not babies arriving on schedule that make motherhood grand. It’s just the babies, whenever and however they come.

  2. 𝔪𝔢𝔪𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔬 𝔪𝔬𝔯𝔦 ♱ ♡ ☠️ “Memento Mori” — remember you will die. Far from morbid, this ancient Catholic phrase is a call to live well. Early Christians often kept skulls or bones near their prayer spaces, not to glorify death, but to remind themselves of eternity: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). 🕯️ The practice was deeply woven into monastic life. Saints like Benedict, Francis of Assisi, and Teresa of Ávila all spoke of death as a doorway, not an end. St. Francis even called death his “sister.” To meditate on death was to see life in its true proportion — fleeting, precious, and meant for union with God. 🌑 The “goth Catholic” aesthetic, often marked by black veils, candlelight, and sacred art of skulls and saints, isn’t about darkness for darkness’ sake. It’s a creative echo of the Church’s centuries-old meditation on mortality and resurrection. Beauty can be solemn, and solemnity can be holy. 🌹 Darkness isn’t demonic when it leads to light. The crucifix itself — a symbol of torture — became the sign of victory over sin and death. “If we have died with Him, we shall also live with Him” (2 Timothy 2:11). In the end, Memento Mori isn’t about fear. It’s about freedom — remembering death, so we can truly choose life. #mementomori #momentomori #gothic #gothstyle #gothstagram #catholicgoth #gothicandamazing #gothicart #gothicstyle #gothicarchitecture #catholic #catholicism #catholiclife #christianity #catholicfaith #catholicliving #christianliving #christianlife #catholicchurch #jesuslovesyou #christiangoth #churchtradition #catholictradition #catholictheology

Things I’ve switched from my previous pregnancies to this pregnancy: Heating Pad ➡️ @simplyhandmadeheat nontoxic heat pack, no synthetic fabric, chemicals, emfs, radiation or chances of being burnt if you fall asleep with it.  Unisom ➡️ Natural support My first pregnancy I threw up every day, multiple times a day until 30weeks but took nothing. Second pregnancy desperate to survive with a toddler I was suggested to take unisom. If I missed a dose I threw up until 30 weeks 🙃 I also had horrible side effects of sleeping half the day, memory loss and confusion.  I want to write a whole post on this🙈 I did a ton of research before this pregnancy in hopes of not being sick. With natural liver support , progesterone supplementation, prioritizing gut health, protein & minerals through the day & homeopathy I had very little sickness (in comparison) this pregnancy going days in-between puking and all nausea and puking subsiding by 14 weeks! 3. 📚 Counsels of Perfection for Christian Mothers By Monsignor P. Leguene Motherhood is the perfect setting for Christian perfection — Legeune directs Catholic mothers to stir from spiritual lukewarmness, habitual venial sin, and dissipation by using the tools he recommends for spiritual growth: the imitation of Mary, recollected prayer, spiritual reading, a rule of life, devout assistance at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and a love for our Eucharistic Lord. 📚 The Apostolate of Holy Motherhood In 1987 a mother of three young children began to see Visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Lord Jesus. The Blessed Mother called for “evangelical purity” among women and announced the creation of a new movement of mothers tailored for this age: “the Apostolate of Holy Motherhood in Catholic Families”. Holy Mary promised that this apostolate would spread throughout the world and that the holiness of these women would help usher in the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart. For 6 months our Lady and our Lord spoke to the young mother, instructing her to write the messages down verbatim as they delivered them. They promised her anonymity so that she could fulfill her duties as a wife, mother, and homemaker in quietness and peace in keeping with the teaching of the Apostolate. 📚 We and Our Children By Mary Reed Newland Mary Reed Newland, in We and Our Children, here offers wise counsel on making the home a domestic church for the raising of Catholic children in holiness, truth, and the Christian virtues. All things central to a child’s life—play, work, school, creative activity, family responsibilities, prayer, the sacraments, and the Mass—are shown to be occasions for encouraging a spiritual outlook and the formation of sound Catholic habits. 📚continued in the comments! And links will be in my stories today!
